Recently, biopositive functions of adiponectin system have been widely investigated in various tissues including liver, muscle, vessels, and heart owing to cytoprotective effect of adiponectin. We have investigated to elucidate the role of adiponectin system in the skin barrier.

The present talk will focus on the relationship of adiponectin system and epidermal differentiation, antimicrobial peptides, keratinocyte senescence and epidermal permeability.
