Nagoya protocol is the international agreement wherein the using country must get PIC from the providing country for the commercialization of genetic resources through R&D and share profits according to MAT.

Industries using biological genetic resources as the targets of the protocol are diverse: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics etc. Countries relying mainly on the import of overseas genetic resources like Korea will have to pay more for the supply of raw materials.

This presentation will show the impacts of the Nagoya protocol on cosmetic industries and counteractions of each country and propose the response measures to cosmetic industry.
