As a Senior Innovation & Insights Analyst at Mintel, Sharon is responsible for providing regional trend insights and analysis in Beauty & Personal Care categories for key clients within the Southeast Asia region.

Sharon brings eight years of experience in the FMCG industry, helping manufacturers, retailers and brand owners to develop their beauty businesses in Southeast Asia. Her business networks include countries such as Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, as well as the US and UK among others.   

She has accumulated an in-depth understanding of the beauty industry, particularly in retail, trading, sales and marketing through her years of experience as a General Manager at Japalang Pte Ltd in Singapore. In this role, Sharon spearheaded new brand launches, from negotiating distribution rights, to pitching sales to buyers and eventually delivering marketing campaigns for official launches with retailers such as Watsons, SaSa Singapore, BHG Singapore and Sephora Singapore. She had previously conducted product trainings for the beauty advisors and sales personnel of these vendors, on top of the sales and marketing activities involving the category managers.

Sharon also led her team to exhibit in regional beauty trade shows such as Cosmobeaute Indonesia and Vietnam, where she was involved in speaking and pitching to business owners and buyers. Through this exposure, Sharon is most familiar with product sourcing in the marketplace and conducting desk research to gather further information on brands and products. Based in Singapore – the trade and economic hub of Southeast Asia – Sharon has experience and understanding of the region, and is thus well placed to provide insights and analysis of the beauty & personal categories in key Asian markets.
